Baked Tofu

I made Baked Tofu for the first time the other night. Normally i just have tofu in stir fry, so this was new for me. I looked up a few recipes and just sort of winged it.

The recipe:

3 TBSP Soy Sauce

3 TBSP Water

2 TBSP EVOO

4 TBSP Lemon Juice (fresh)

1 miced Garlic Clove

2 TSP Basil

1 TSP Thyme

1 TSP Oregano

1 pound Firm Tofu, drained and pressed

I pressed the tofu for about 30-60 minutes, then sliced it into about 9 pieces. Mixed mariade ingredients together in a glass baking dish and set the slices in. Refrigerated and then turned pieces after 30 minutes. 30 minutes later I baked in the oven (375 degrees) and turned tofu after about 20 minutes. I think I baked them for somewhere between 45-60 minutes. They turned out great! I love baked tofu.

What do you mean by pressing it? I have some Tofu in the frig and this looks like something yummy, so I may try it.

I haven't made baked tofu -- like you, I tend to pan/stir-fry it! Thanks for the idea!

P.S. Did you leave the marinade in the pan when you baked it?

I did leave the marinade in the pan when I cooked it.
